1. What's a motto you live by at work?
My own growth will always guide and help those that I love most.
2. How do you stay motivated/inspired in your career?
I come from a family of immigrants. My mother and father had little to no education due to not being able to afford it. So, their hard work to keep me and my sisters in school will never be undervalued. My parents fell under the category of great workers but no education. So, every step I take to further myself and my career is in honor to my parents
3. If your life had a theme song, what would it be and why?
Mood -Jessie Reyez.
Growing up, one of my parent's favorite songs was " Los Caminos de la Vida-by La Trona Vallentana". She used an old song many Latinos could relate to but, most importantly, made it more relatable to the new generation. One of the most common problems many immigrant parents had to face was adjusting to a new life with little to no family in the USA and learning how life is not that easy. My parents had to leave behind their parents and wait to be able to see them. My dad was blessed to be here in 1986 for the Immigration Reform and Control Act. However, my mom wasn’t, and it took almost 20 years before my mom could see her parents again. This song helps me remain humble and respect those who, to this day, are still suffering and missing their loved ones.
4. What's your favorite way to unwind after a busy day at work?
I love walking with my son, and boyfriend. As we walk, we normally talk about our day; it's the best way for me to clear my mind and enjoy the outdoors.
5. If you could bring back any fashion trend, what would it be?
Growing up in Chicago, we had this trend to wear a belt with the first letter of our name. It was a trend some of my cousins had growing up that me and my sister also shared with them.
6. If you could time travel to the past or future, what era or moment would you visit?
The 90s when my family would have cook outs and parties in Chicago. I would also like to hold my son one more time from the day he was born.
7. If you could pick up a new skill in an instant, what would it be and why?
I used to go skating with my elementary school. However, as I got older, I forgot how to skate. So, one of my goals this year is definitely to practice and re-learn how to skate.
8. If you could switch departments in the company for a day, which department would it be and why?
Marketing - I've very creative and artistic.
9. What advice would you give to someone starting in your field?
Give yourself the time you need to learn and always be humble to those that help you grow.
