When did you join Microban?

August 2024.

How did you come to work for Microban?

I started my career at Ashland Chemical in Ohio, then worked at BASF for several years. After considering other opportunities, I expressed interest in a role at Microban, and when the position became available, I was fortunate to join the team.

What do you do at Microban?

I work within the regulatory team to ensure compliance with agencies such as the EPA, Canadian authorities, and California, while promoting innovation and supporting Microban's global footprint.

What's your favorite aspect of the job?

My favorite aspect of the job is developing effective pathways to compliance, especially when the initial reaction may be to think it's impossible. It's even more rewarding when we can achieve compliance without incurring additional costs.

    Quickfire round questions

    • My office beverage of choice is... sparkling water. Fun fact-I do not drink coffee, tea, juice, or soda so sparkling water is my go to. If I'm feeling spicy you might catch me with kombucha.
    • Something you’ve listened to or read recently that you’d recommend and why: The Gift of Rejection. I don't know anyone who enjoys rejection; we've all faced it, and instead of looking at rejection as a bad thing, what if whatever you were rejected from (job, friends, family, mate, etc.) was really a gift that at the time you couldn't see. It's very cliche because hindsight is always 20/20, but what if you knew that those feelings of disappointment and hurt were saving you from something even worse? The book has a religious aspect to it, which you can take or leave, but the overarching message for me is sometimes rejection is protection.
    • Your happy place anywhere in the world: Aruba- In 2018, after a bad breakup, I went there for my "Eat, Pray, Love" trip. it was the most beautiful and healing experience and will always have a special place in my heart. It truly is "one happy island."
    • What’s one thing college didn’t teach you: to always be kind because you never know what a person is going through and it costs nothing to be kind 🙂
    • What is the best reason you've had to turn your out-of-office recently? We took our first family vacation as a family of 4 to the Nickelodeon Resort in Punta Cana. It was amazing, I'd highly recommend if you have littles. I was tired but their smiles and squeals were well worth it.
    • Your last meal choice (starter/main/dessert) if you were to leave for Space tomorrow:
      • Starter: strawberry, goat cheese, and candied pecan salad with a champagne vinaigrette.
      • Main: ribeye (medium rare) with green beans
      • Dessert: butter pecan ice cream
