Added Protection for Medical Scales

SR Instruments, a leading manufacturer of purpose-built scales for hospitals, medical facilities, and long-term care centers, now includes Microban embedded antimicrobial technology in its flagship product line, SR Scales.

SR Scales infused with Microban technology feature added protection against the growth of bacteria, and the technology is included in all SR medical stand-on, wheelchair, and wall mount scales at no additional cost. In 2019, SR Instruments’ new pediatric scales also added Microban antimicrobial product protection. Surface areas that contain the antimicrobial protection include the platform, handrails, stanchions, display housing, keypad, and visible labeling.

Microban protection begins to work as soon as a micro-organism comes into contact with the product surface. The technology then works continuously to maintain a consistently lower bio-burden than would be expected on a product without Microban protection.

Medical professionals working in a variety of areas such as in infection control, biomedical engineering, acute care, and strategic sourcing can now utilize a wide range of SR Scales with antimicrobial protection throughout their facilities.
